The construction of phase 4
of the WHR, ‘bridging the gap’ between Rhyd Ddu and Porthmadog
commenced on 1st August 2005, when the First Minister of the Welsh
Assembly, Rhodri Morgan cut a red tape to inaugurate work. Since
then, significant changes have been completed at Rhyd Ddu and tracklaying
has now progressed through the Aberglaslyn Pass and Nantmor, and has reached
the Afon Nanmor. At the south end of the line, the WHR(P) have also laid track to Traeth Mawr. The push continues, with
the goal of linking it all up for opening in 2009. To find out,
